Start with the site goal
If the website earns money from high-value leads, the most important job is conversion. Home pages, service pages, report samples, and contact forms should not be crowded with outside display ads.
If the website is a content site built around search, Pinterest, or newsletter traffic, display ads can become a core revenue stream after traffic is stable.
Good ad formats for consulting sites
Consulting sites usually work better with tool recommendations, partner referrals, and contextual affiliate links. These can fit naturally inside articles about forms, tracking, automation, websites, CRM, or analytics.
A recommendation box inside an article is usually safer than a generic banner because it supports the reader's next step instead of pulling them away from the service offer.
Where not to place ads
Avoid ads in the hero, service plan section, contact form, thank-you flow, or report sample page. These pages should preserve trust and keep attention on the main call to action.
Article pages can carry monetization, especially after the main answer has been delivered. Resource pages can also group recommended tools by use case.
Recommended order
First protect service conversion. Then create a recommended tools page. Next add contextual recommendations to related articles. Only after content traffic is meaningful should you test AdSense, Journey, Raptive, or other display ad networks.
